I have always been an artist at heart. From a very young age I was found drawing and sketching random cartoons or other various things. As a child I was also very involved in theater making my first acting debut at the age of 6 in the show The Music Man. As I was growing up I was always searching for the next creative outlet. While attending high school I also attended Marchman Vocational Center in New Port Richey, FL where I received a certificate for completing the commercial art program. During the time I attended Marchman I was chosen to receive the Vocational Gold Seal Scholarship from the Florida Department of Education.
After graduating high school I applied and was accepted to the prestigious Ringling College of Art and Design. While attending Ringling, as a Fine Arts Major, I studied numerous aspects of art from painting, to printmaking and sculpture. In 2000 I graduated receiving a BFA with a concentration in painting. Continuing on my quest for education, in 2008 I attended and graduated from Joe Blasco Makeup Center East in Orlando, FL. While attending Joe Blasco I learned many aspects of makeup including beauty, glamour, avant garde, high fashion, period, aging, fantasy, hairwork, bald cap, airbrush, character, tattoo simulation, monster, construction, injury simulation and other special effects. But it didn’t stop there. I also went on to continue my studies of advanced prosthetics as well. Being a Professional Freelance Makeup Artist since 2008, I decided to continue my education and learn a whole new aspect of makeup, permanent makeup. In 2009 I attended John Hashey’s Advanced School of Permanent Cosmetics. While there I learned numerous procedures such as eyeliner, eyebrows, lips, scar relaxation, scar camouflage, tattoo removal, and areola reconstruction. Always being a lover of tattoos and tattoo arts I was accepted on as an apprentice under John Hashey to start learning conventional tattooing as well. After my apprenticeship I was accepted to become one of the artists at Arty Joe’s Skin City in Oldsmar, FL. While working for Arty Joe’s I took and completed the course to become an OSHA certified trainer.
Toward the end of 2010 I left Arty Joe’s to be able to fully pursue my career as a makeup artist. In 2010 I was very lucky to have been asked to do the cover and centerfold makeup for Pinup America Magazine’s first issue. I am also Lead Makeup Artist for Tampa, FL based Le Teaze Burlesque Troupe and a writer for Pinup America Magazine’s article “Diary of a Tattoo.” I have been so fortunate to have gotten to work with the many people I have and the opportunities I have been given in my career and throughout my life. I continue to learn and educate myself everyday to be the best artist I can be no matter what the craft.
